Kyuzo. Red Fleet. Serial Number 24-14982. Hailer Qualification. Commando Qualification. Guardsman Qualification. Decorated eight times for Courage Under Fire and five times for Actions Beyond the Call of Duty. Permanently assigned to Sorceress-Major Maya Antares.

Kyuzo is a large man. His face is hard and, like the rest of him, scarred extensively. He has been in one war or another for his country for years, but one thing has remained constant since his graduation from the academy: Whenever Maya Antares is called to battle, Kyuzo has been beside her.

Most of the time he's wearing his Fleet issued combat gear. Ceramic plated armor across the upper and middle torso, plates covering his knees and thighs, and more plates on his shoulders and arms to the elbow. Over that he wears a long gray cloak.

Kyuzo is also armed to the teeth. He carries a longknife, a combat knife with twelve inches of razor-sharp blade. He carries a short barreled shotgun which he fires one-handed. He has a ridiculous number of grenades. He carries a Hailer, a chaingun with a backpack ammo pack and an ammunition supply measured in minutes instead of in thousands of rounds.

And his Hook. The Hook is a telekinetically controlled bladed weapon that superficially resembles a five foot long spear. Unless he plans on fighting with it, he carries it on a strap over his shoulder. But once he swings into action it allows him to fight with a weapon in each hand and still strike with the Hook. As a Guardsman, Kyuzo is one of the most deadly fighters the Red Fleet can produce.
